The best location is not necessarily the most popular one. It is the place that complements your style, helps you feel comfortable, and gives us room to create photos that feel like the two of you. Milwaukee makes that part easy.
Within a relatively small area, we have Lake Michigan views, historic architecture, colorful murals, industrial streets, modern city backdrops, wooded trails, neighborhood bars, and some of the most recognizable landmarks in Wisconsin.
Some couples want an iconic Milwaukee setting. Others would rather spend the evening at their favorite brewery, walk through the neighborhood where they live, or revisit the restaurant where they had their first date. Both approaches can create an incredible session. This guide includes 15 of our favorite Milwaukee engagement photo locations, along with the style and atmosphere each one offers.

2- Trust Us — The Streets of Downtown Milwaukee
Our favorite Milwaukee engagement photos happen on an ordinary downtown block, crossing the street, outside a parking garage, underneath unexpected light, against a building we noticed while walking, or in an alley that didn't look particularly special until we put you in it.
For couples who are open to exploring, we love starting with a general area of downtown Milwaukee and letting the session unfold from there.

3- Lakeshore State Park: Lakeshore State Park offers some of Milwaukee’s most recognizable skyline and lakefront views. It gives us open fields, pathways, boats, water, tall grasses, and the city in the background. The atmosphere is relaxed and natural, but the skyline keeps the photographs unmistakably Milwaukee.

5 - Villa Terrace Villa Terrace brings a completely different atmosphere to Milwaukee.

The area's mix of older architecture and changing city streets makes it especially good for photographs that feel a little less polished and more editorial.

Rather than a quiet park or natural setting, this location works best when we embrace the movement and activity happening around us.

14 - Seven Bridges
Seven Bridges in Grant Park feels surprisingly removed from the city despite being just south of Milwaukee.
The trail winds through wooded ravines, historic bridges, stone pathways and staircases before eventually reaching the Lake Michigan shoreline. The combination of forest, bridges, water, and changing elevation gives us several completely different environments without needing to drive between locations. The full trail system is approximately two miles and includes numerous stairs, so comfortable shoes are a very good idea.
It is especially beautiful when everything is green during the warmer months or when the leaves begin changing in fall. Because this location involves trails and uneven terrain, we plan these sessions a little differently than a downtown session.
Best for: Wooded trails, fall color, Lake Michigan, romantic walks, adventurous couples, and nature-focused sessions
15 - Atwater Park
Atwater Park gives us one of our favorite combinations of bluff views, greenery, and Lake Michigan.
We can begin above the lake for photographs with open sky and sweeping views before making our way down toward the beach for something softer and more relaxed. The change in elevation and scenery makes it possible to create a surprisingly varied engagement gallery without leaving one location.
We especially love Atwater for sessions that are allowed to feel a little imperfect — walking along the shoreline, wind in your hair, taking your shoes off, getting close to the water, and letting the evening unfold rather than trying to keep everything perfectly posed.
